Oswego River report:

With little significant precipitation in the last few days, the river level continues to drop slowly running at 16,200cfs as of this afternoon. This is still a high level for fishing along much of the river. Behind the hotels is a suggested area for steelhead, browns and walleye. Many Lake Ontario tributaries are also producing some nice trout.

Notice: The bridge to Leto Island is closed, and there are mandatory personal flotation device (PFD) zones on the river. For more information, view the Brookfield Varick Fish Safely Brochure. The Oswego Fire Department offers loaner life jackets at no charge through its “Loaner for Life” program. For more information contact the fire station, 35 E. Cayuga St., at 315-343-2161.
