I have a 19 ft islander with an OMC kicker bracket which is mounted on the transom port side...im having troubles with the throttle & gearshift cables when turning the motor...anyone have ideas or similar mounting and routing of cables..i will post pics when I get home..i don't know if I should cut a hole in transom up high to accommodate the cables????the kicker is a 9.9 Suzuki 4 stroke..the main motor is a 110 hp evinrude

I was lucky to have had a boat made for a kicker. The company ran the battery wires to a plug in back so they are only 2' long or so going to the kicker, and I added another control like the main control behind it and ran the cables together with the main.cables.The 2 motors are connected with a bar for the steering using the bolt pattern under the main steering cable.

Are you cables long enough sometimes if the cables are to short when you turn the wheel it will create issues.

Not completely relevant but both my Penn Yan's had stainless engine vents at rear sides of boat and I ran cables through them. Possibly put some faux vents on and run cables through them.
