Plugging drains

I'm wondering if the guys that fish the finger lakes all winter , do you plug your bilge and bait well lines from outside.  I fear water getting left in pipes, pumps and splitting hoses under the deck.

You dont want to plug your bilge you might need that. As far as the live well if you dont use it it will be ok. Just make sure your boat is completely drained before leaving the dock to prevent and freezing.

I always plugged my livewell intake for winter fishing. The dealer would put antifreeze in the lines during the winterization and a bolt that plugged the intake. I’d just remove it in the spring once we were safely above freezing.

Maybe overly cautious but not a lot of work.
