I just bought a 16 foot Alumacraft with a 20 hp Evinrude for a winter boat. Will also be used for the occasional bass fishing trips on local ponds when the price of fuel goes back up to 4+ bucks a gallon next summer. :(

It's a deep V and I need some advice for a bow mounted electric trolling motor and mounting bracket. Lbs of thrust, shaft length,12 or 24 volts and options I need or don't need ect.

Thanks for any help.

I have a Minn Kota power drive on my 17 footer... 55lb. thrust, 12 volt is all you will need. I have the long shaft ( 54"). I love sitting in the back of the boat in rough water instead of the bow. The auto pilot keeps you running in a straight line so you're fishing instead of steering the motor all day. Mine is 6 years old and still works like the day I bought it
