Rotating gimbal mount rod holders

Has anyone used the rotating gimbal mounts for Dipsy rod holders on their boats?  Thoughts?

And I mean the rotating gimbal mounts with tracks mounted to them.

Not familiar with the rotating gimbal mounts but I have tracks mounted to ridged gimbal mounts with ratcheting rod holders for  Dipseys. Works great. Not all boats have gunnels strong enough though.
