Water color dictates everything...

Clean water = a natural presentation (black flash, goby, brown trout, chrome blue, chrome black)

dirty water= bright colors (my secret, coho crusher, green frog)

Short shallows get the majority of the work load but S3s, and long shallows all have their days.

Heres my best of spring 2018...

Depth dictates what Bay Rat I will run also... If I'm in super skinny water, the smaller bill S3 .... 8 ft or better and reg bill goes out.
The depth the lure will run has a lot of factors.. Speed your trolling, line diameter, and how far back you run it.
I use 20# main with a 12# floro leader... My 20# may ride higher in the water column than say a 10 or 12 lb main line...
Experimenting will give you a really good idea and eventually you will have it down so you can have the bait exactly where you want it.

The coho crusher has been good for us in all conditions. We do much better on short shallows. Then long shallows.

Leopard, mixed veggie and BT candy three of our favorites.

Yankee troller the 4 3/8 or the 3 1/2 size?   also on a lighter note   you don't run the yankee troller lure?????lol

I like the smaller size. That's my personal preference. The larger size is run by a lot of great captains. I'll run S3 on the inside boards and SS on the outside typically.

Iforgot about that color. That's a dirty water color for me.
