Does anybody have any idea as to how long it will take for all that water falling in the mid west to make it down to Lake Ontario and will it have any noticable effect on our lake level?

You would think it would be quicker, It is Lake Erie we need to watch.

"Time constant from Lakes Michigan and Huron to Lake Ontario is ABOUT 1 year"

Hmmm , I thought I read someplace that it takes a year for a "drop " of water to move from one end of Erie to the other. I would think if they opened up the dams as much as they can on the St Larry that they could keep the levels somewhat under control. Not going to lose any sleep over it , just deal with it when the time comes.

It was in news articles that the lake is/was 16"s higher than the 2017 year, but they were letting water out at insane numbers to compensate. Hopefully you get a gradual thaw so they didn't have a repeat of 2017. I would go with the words of the locals before us guys from other states get nervous about it. I hope for those with lake front property are spared this time/ If there is a this time??

The Mississippi and Missouri Rivers flow to the Gulf of Mexico. The rain they have should not have much effect on the Great Lakes. Still Lakes Michigan, Huron, St. Clair and Erie are high today and that is coming to Lake Ontario.
