Saratoga Area

I am heading out to the saratoga-schenectady area for the thanksgiving holiday and wouldn't mind doing some fishing while i was out there... anyone have any suggestions? I don't really care about the species.

One of my friends was doing walleyes & stripers at the dam above Troy. They were casting from shore & jiggin it back in to the shore. He is on vacation now so I can't get more detail for you. But the fish ran in the 5 to 20Lb range. I bet a bait shop in Troy or in the surronuding area can hook you up with the details.

Your post did not mention keeping the fish caught. My buddy does not keep any of the fish he catches from there. Thanks to General Electric. This fishery is a bunch of fun though for P.C.R.

yeah that's fine, i don't care as much about keeping them as just having a good time. thanks for the info!
