I am replacing the coated cable on our probe rigger and I want to install a Chamberlain release. Does anyone else run this setup? If so, do you install the release above the probe, and if so how far. and do you try to coat the bare metal on the release to prevent signal loss? Or do you rig the Chamberlain near the ball, below the probe? Thanks.

Hey Keith you may want to just use the Chamberlain Stacker release as a main release I don't think it would damage the cable and you wouldn't have to cut anything and you could put it wherever you wish.

Cut wire off chamberlain and run cable through release pin release in position using Scotty auto stop bead to stop from sliding up cable

I tape up the clincher release with the stretchy, self-ahering tape down to the top of the swivel. Nothing on rest of swivel. I did coat the probe tab with "liquid tape" where the swivel does not contact, but don't know if it made any difference. I get 150ft with x-version Depth Raider.....175+ft with wet towel....YMMV
