I posted too quick. Is there a way to mount it without butchering my boat or should I just look for another one?

Are you asking if you should look for another motor?

Yea jack plates work great. Tie it to your main and get an electronic throttle control.

Do you want to be able to take it off and put it back on easily? If not, you could remove the 2 screw clamps and pads. That would probably give you another 1/2" to 3/4". You would need to bolt in on then though.

Motor bracket or remove the screw clamps and pads as mentioned above. (if that will allow enough room in the throat of the kicker bracket)

  Either way you are drilling & bolting to the boat. Tie bar & troll controller and you will be good to go.

Do you have a port side view of the transom? I couldn't fit mine on the transom itself so a bracket solved the problem and I can take the trolling motor on and off to replace it on the bracket with my electric when going after other species than trout. I have a quick connect fitting on the power cords of each so they are easily interchangeable.
