As soon as I get off boat  (Transom shot)    2003 9.9hp xxlong shaft, has electric start and remote throttle and shifter.  Runs sweet Just had serviced.

XX is usually 25", and it is usually for a sailboat as sszoldra said.  I have an XX 8HP Johnson Sailmaster as my kicker, perfect for a deep v with a garelick adjustable bracket...

25" is extra long shaft, i just bought a brand new mercury 9.9 pro kicker with an extra long shaft ( XL) and its 25" and not for a sailboat
