fish finders

I'm looking for some input on fish finders, I don't have a lot of money so I'm looking for a used fish finder, what would be a good unit in the middle of the line finder? Thanks

Sometimes there are some good savings on “factory reconditioned” and “open box” electronics.  Advantage here is that you might have a warranty that used won’t have.  A few years ago I picked up a reconditioned Humminbird for about half price with 6 months warranty instead of a full year- the only thing I could find was the plastic cover had some sanding marks cleaning up a mark from a mold.  IMO used electronics can be risky unless you can see them working.

For under $300 you can get yourself a brand new Humminbird Helix 5 CHIRP GPS combo. That unit will do everything you need it to catch fish. Or you can look used or ebay and maybe find a deal on something larger or with more options depending on what you're looking for.
