Appreciate option but that is what im avoiding is lifting that boom everytime. when uou get in your mid 50s it doesnt get any lighter. Lol

There is no other way that I am aware of I to am in my mid 50s and my depth raider probe rigger is in a spot so I can lift tried all weight retrievers and they damage coating I recommend trying all spots on your boat to get best leverage point for that one rigger

have you tried the traxstech retrievers yet? they are the best out there. they work just like the others but have much better rollers that retrieves the ball. they might cause the same problem as the others but you need to try them before you give up and say there's nothing you can do.

Thanks for idea. Its  only section from boom to my release do about 18 inches.   Booms are 4 ft. Thought maybe that you could slide some type of sleeve over that area for protection. rigger also has autostop on it

I have the same set up and I tilt the boom up to get to my release.  It works better for me and avoids the issue with damage of the cable.

use 60 inch scotty releases.  then just reach over with the rod and scoop it up with the eyelet on the rod.  you'll never have to bed over again

Use the cannon retrievers. Never an issue with them. How old is your cable? Maybe it's just time for new cable?

I tell you the traxstech retriever is the best one made at this time. go to there web site traxstech.com.  I think they call them traxstech pully retriever. the cost is like 21.00 and worth every cents
