it is a 1991 26' hard top with a 454 single and that is really all I know right now just never been on one and wanted to know how well they were built and if they were a good choice for salmon. do they take wll to rough seas? and how would a boat like this troll down?

It's a 27 I believe and they are a good boat. Trolling is no problem. Have it ck'ed over well or surveyed before you make the jump.

I would definitely suggest getting a survey by a professional. Sportcraps are notorious for rotten stringers . Just my .02

If it is a solid boat, then that 27' sport is a great fishing boat that can handle some big water, smooth and dry.

After talking with the glass guy that is doing my boat, all boats are made like crap. Anything over 10 years old most likely needs stringers. Some of the newer boats are ever worse. The Stringers in my 22 year old Starcraft were shot. It does not help that they had drain holes in them from the factory. He said they save time and money and skimp on simple things that could prolong the life of transoms, and stringers.

You know what they say about opinions....

I think they sit to high out of the water and really rock when trolling.

Yes they take the rough water real well as do other manufactures.
