I’m out and it’s COLD. In the new saddle this morning and it’s really comfy. Seen a few shooters this week but nothing close enough, let’s hope they do something stupid quick this AM so I can go get a warm diner breakfast.

Hate it when this happens!  Shooter walked 10 yards broadside in front of the stand on 11/5 during the middle of the day, but as you can see nobody was in the stand.

Also bought four new cameras to put up on a different property closer to home.  I've had them set up for just over a week now, and got a couple of nice ones on camera.  Just wish i had checked that property out sooner, i would have been spending a lot more time there this season.

Looks like a good reason to spend time in the stand Sean:smile:

Both ground blinds collapsed from the weight of the snow. The Barromett blind had two shattered fiberglass poles on side hubs that will need to be replaced. They're only $10 apiece, but it's a PITA to do it in the field. The Primos Double Bull didn't blink. I pushed the snow off the top and it's back in working order. The poles, hubs and fabric are significantly burlier than other makes I've used, but it's also a more expensive blind. I lost ten pounds in sweat getting them fixed, though. I hope this snow compacts by Saturday.

I hate it when the poles snap.  I have one that is FUBAR and the other is limping along.  If you take the time to cut a blind in properly, you don't want to have to remove it before every winter storm.  Might as well not even use one.

Good luck brother. Great night, wish I was in the woods. Just put a 16lb brisket in the smoker. Should be ready sometime tomorrow morning lol.

Sat morning and night Mon, Tues, Wed, and still have Thurs/Friday to go. In the first three days I have seen 3 deer. Grated one was a real nice shooter that was too far. Time has been split between Irondequoit and Brockport. Both pretty much Mecca’s for deer. The brockport property I know needs work and plots to pull more deer, so that’s more of a next year situation, but the lack of deer in the Irondequoit sits has me really scratching the head....

Bad night for me. Finally get a shot off tonight after countless hours on stand in pure brutal conditions. Pretty sure I hit a branch prior to hitting the deer and I did not see the arrow hit. Once a I shot he wheeled out of there like he was smoked and i thought he was going to go down instead he stops and blows 3 or 4 times. From there I see him just walk away. At this point I have no idea what to think.... did I miss? Waited a bit before getting down and whent to the **** and found hair. Followed his tracks a had spots of blood here and there. Tracked for 300 yards to make sure it wasnt a different deer that was blowing. Want to puke as I can guarantee he is chasing a doe right now!
