Looking for any info. on whether or not an auto pilot of any brand works

on an 18' lund aluminum boat? Only needed for less than 3' sea's and for

rigging and fighting fish. Any help appreciated!

Im sure there is a place for a true auto pilot but I use a minn kota ipilot to steer my 1950 Lund tyee and love it. I have an 8hp kicker that I run at the same time.   I wish I had the ulterra for the auto deploy feature when I want to bow cover the front. It really isn’t too much of an inconvenience as I don’t have a bow cover 95% of the time. The auto pilot works well, nice to have controls on a lanyard and even use the “track” feature once in a while.  Good luck.

The other advantage of a trolling motor (Minn-Kota) type autopilot set up is the anchor feature. You can use it like an autopilot, but you can also anchor up for perch or other "still fishing" applications. More versatile than AP........ pricey but worth it.

If you have the Minnkota I pilot link you can also use the follow the contour feature to keep the boat tracking at the exact depth you want. I get my kicker up to 1.8ish then run my Terrova on 4. Have my kicker on my trolling motor batteries so it charges them while running. Works well. No problems.
