I am thinking of upgrading my head unit on the Terrova to the I pilot version. I am looking for opinions on how functional it is and how much you ACTUALLY use it.

I am ready to drop the 450 on it, but I want to know it’s worth it.

I fish with Pequod1 on his boat and spot lock is awesome.  I have used in many times with him from shallow perch fishing Ibay to deep water perch on Lake Erie.  It works as advertised!

It is a must have! Also works as auto pilot when trolling and much much more. You will not be disappointed with it!

Good stuff guys! I was mainly thinking about it in terms of bass. Holding over a deep dropshot spot ain’t easy and spotlock would greatly help!

I've done this on Lake Erie. It's money!

If I were you I would sell yours and try to find a used newer bluetooth Terrova that uses the heading sensor. The spot lock accuracy is WAY better.

I have also thought about adding this to my Powerdrive, but have not found a definite answer if it is compatible with my unit.  I bought the power drive brand new last year to add to my new to me boat and could not bring my self to spend the extra money on the one that came with the i-pilot already installed.  I have kicked my self ever since!!!!

I was told it must be a Powerdrive V2 for it to work.  How do I know if I have a V2?  It has the small connector for the foot pedal and I bought it new last year....

Sorry if I am hijacking your thread.  Just looking for answers.
