trolling batteries

I have a minn kota trolling motor that requires two batteries. what does everyone prefir for deep cycle trolling batteries.

I use optima blue. I went with them
Because the only storage I have is in my center console and I got old and didn’t/couldn’t pull them out all the time to check water level. Four years on my current set and still strong.

Walmart has a 1000 amp deep cycle that goes for around $100. 2 yr warranty. Better warranty than some of the name brands. Havent had any issues with mine.

I use the Walmart deep cycles. Two of them in parallel. I also have a dedicated battery for starting the big motor. No problems in 4 years.

get at least a group 27, group 31 if weight and space allows. I use (2) group 27 Interstate on a 19' up in the bow the weight helps with the ride and runs all day salmon "steering"

I agree on the Wallmarts 

 

I have 3 of them . One lasted 8 years . I buy a new one every 2 years. One for my big boat cranking a Chevy 305. 2 on my small boat for cranking and trolling . 

 

No problems . 

 

Get a good charger and keep them charged .

I use Sam’s Club Duracell branded AGMs group 31 run around $160 and are great.

East Penn Manufacturing makes Deka and Duracell batteries. I use both. 2 in the boat and 2 in the truck.

Very impressive batteries here..........6-8 hours straight through on my single minnkota.
