We’re getting into the good part of October now and still the salmon “run” looks to be behind a typical years’ timing by a week or two.  More fish are definitely on the move now with still no great concentrations staged in the usual downstream spots that we know of.  Look for migrating fish out of Lake Ontario to move up toward the dam relatively quickly.  Weather is mostly pleasant for anglers this week – not necessarily great for anymore precipitation or colder temps.  The forecast is dry and relatively warm until the weekend when there is the chance for precipitation.  Rain last weekend did not amount to much here on the WNY Lake Ontario plain.  Long range forecast points toward colder weather next week and possible lake effect snow.
