Distance from shore

For the captains and guides, in your estimation how much fishing time during the year do you spend more than 1-1/2 to 2 miles off shore.? Especially between Fair Haven to Oswego.

I should have mentioned that I am asking with respect to boating safety, I'm not looking to stalk anyone's fish. The boat purchase is still a year or two away.

For early season browns you are fishing tight to shore but as summer sets in and fall approaches 2 miles from the shore of
FH will roughly put you in 70 FOW.

Depending on your target species you will almost always be out further than that.

Out of Oswego you gain roughly 100' of depth for every mile out.  Keep in mind, east end weather can get sloppy in a hurry.

When brown trout ends most of the season is out there. Until lot unless late season move us in.
