Winter and early spring steelhead almost never see water above 40 degrees and will spawn.

 Got this guy hooked on trib fishing today!  Case in point, both times l took him water was high and muddy and only browns would bite. Steelhead were non existent but browns kept us playing. Also, reinforces my point that browns are a 12 month fish. Boat photo was his first lake fish, also a brown!
