I am add copper to next years salmon tool box.

#45 witch finish do you prefer nickel or copper and does anyone use both.

Happy New Year

I only have 2 copper rods on my boat. 450 color is natural copper and 300 is nickel finish. Both take fish. There’s anywhere from 30-50’ of leader off the copper, so I don’t think the finish matters that much.

I am thinking of going with the same combination. Do you see action on one or the the only at the same time or both at the same time. Thank you

Depends on the day and where the temp is. 450 and 300 will be roughy 25-30’ apart vertically. Early season the 450 doesn’t go out most of the time. 300 can take steelies or browns higher in the thermocline later in the season.
