Boat US tow insurance.

Not sure of what heading to put this under, but anyone have any dealings with Boat US. I see they offer assistance if you break down on the water and even have coverage for trailer break down and tow vehicle break down. Looks like price is pretty decent. I trailer a lot for long distances and this could be well worth it if they are any good.

Geico boat insurance includes boat us on water and roadside assistance.  Price it out both ways because for me it was cheaper to go through geico.

Geico writes the policies for Boat us. My policy is cheaper going through Boat US.

Exactly so make sure to price it out both ways.  My 2005 chrestliner tournament 192 was cheaper directly through boat US.  My 2018 Skeeter mx1825 is cheaper through Geico.  Typical insurance company BS.

I have the coverage but never had to use it.

Have used boat us for the past 19 years. Boat three slips down went up in flames and we suffered 12000 worth of damage. They paid it all and were a pleasure to deal with.

I love boat us. The price difference between geico and boat us is small, but Geico likes to raise prices yearly. If you buy Boat US through west marine, you also get some discounts towards things they have instore.

Schwartz, the policy with boat US that paid your claim wasn't a tow policy was it. That had to be your regular coverage policy.

Highly recommend the Boat US Unlimited Trailer Tow Assist for $14.00.  Have used it on trips to 1000 Islands several times. Coupled with the Boat US app on your phone it made contact very easy. 

Jimski makes a good point about on the water towing. Find out where they will be dispatched from before you decide to go for unlimited water towing.

• West Marine usually runs a $25.00 off special 2x a year for Boat us.  Once at xmas and another in the spring.  It cost me $60.00 for unlimited towing.  Another $14.00 for trailer towing.

Voodoo. The boat is is insured and includes the trailer towing as well as on water towing. Have used both. We are on Oneida and also trailer our fishing boat to Wellsley. Every year we hear how much towing on the water costs from the uninsured boaters.
