The Ficht system is a 2 stroke system. Ficht is what caused  Evinrude/Johnson to go bankrupt  Please do your homework on that one.

This outboard is a 2 stroke with a remote oil tank that can be positioned where it would be the best fit for a particular boat.  Outboard is fully operable.

Thanks for the heads up. I've done my research and there appears to be a "few good ones" that slipped through the cracks. Never hurts to ask questions.

I believe Bombardier bought OMC in 2000.  The motor I have for sale has a pinned head which bombardier started putting on their outboards at some point.

Does the motor have the OMC logo or the BRP logo on it?

Also, what is the charging capacity of that motor? My 1989 150 Evinrude has a much lower charging capacity the the 1989 175. I know this because both motors are listed in the same owner's manual.

The labels on the engine are OMC. That being said, I  did a little online research this morning. OMC declared bankruptcy in 2000 and BRP acquired them in February of 2001.  The model number of my particular outboard indicates that it is a 2001 model year.  The pinned heads on it are the upgrades to fix the early problems on the ficht motors.  I don't have the original owners manual but a little research states that charging capacity on the V6 is 10 amps at idle and up to 50 amps at higher rpm's.
