What do you guys recomend for sealing the inside of holes drilled througe fiber glass/wood before you put your bolts througe and seal them with silicone? For example holes througe a hard top or hall. I think the inside of the hole should be protected just in case the silicone fails. Thanks Sean

I prefer to use "Lifecalk" instead of silicone. It seems to adhere to the fiberglass better than silicone and won't separate from the fiberglass over time. It can also be applied on wet surfaces and holds up longer. I usually squeeze some into holes before I put the bolt through. Just my personal preference .

Stick with a "Bad Habit" 100% silicone has its place and it ant good for what your doing. You can buy some marine grade polyseamseal in a small tube about 1 step down from epoxy but remains slightly flexable.

Sean:

I got a sealant from West Marine....it was a 3M product....I don't have

any left, but seems to me it was like a 4200 grade silicone. They had 1 kind

that was "stronger", but the guy at the store said to use this one.
