There is very little ice this year and the Power Authority has started removal of their ice boom at the head of the Niagara River. As the open water on Lake Erie warms up, the fishing on the Niagara Bar will start sooner. You should have your boat ready in the next warm spell. The south shoreline waters from Wilson and Olcott will turn on now as tributary streams will warm up near shore waters. The bait fish will migrate to spawning sites and the trout and salmon will be there.
