Hi everyone!  I am brand new to lake trout fishing so any advise would be great!  I'd like to take my dad out fishing for Lake Trout in and around the Kingston area...I was thinking about launching out of Finkles Point but not sure what depth to be looking for, trolling or jigging?  We have downriggers and or planner boards that we can use.  16' Lund so we'll only be out on calmer days and not heading too far out.  Any suggestions about how to start out would be great!!!

Thanks,

Scotti

There are some recent posts on Quinte Fishing forum out of Finkles. Fish are being caught!

I dont fish that area, but the areas I do troll for Lakers. I look for ledges, drop offs any structure from say 30 to 60ish fow. I troll 2 rigger rods and everything else leadcore. I prefer 5 colour but I have some areas I always go to.

I run mag spoons for lakers. Watermelon has its days. Last year colours like hawg wild were really working well.

Good luckIMG_4321.jpg
