Poppet valve leaks

2008 mercury 150 EFI. I just changed the impeller,thermostats and poppet valve. Water leaking out the weep hole. Google answers are making my head hurt. Any advice?

Replace the water pump. Not enough pressure for the poppet to operate.

Check the housing for warpage, I had the same, I put some wet and dry on a sheet of glass, it was dished in the middle, once I resurfaced it   problem solved

I hope that after 3 years he resolved that issue , like shortly thereafter,  as in days
