GPS/ipilot trolling motor

Hey guys I have a helix 5 humming bird fishfinder. I am wondering/looking at what brands would be best. Any advice would be much appreciated. Want to make sure I get the best bang for the buck. Won’t be a purchase right now but looking into.

I have seen the ones humming bird recommends but figured I’d ask you guys since I have never used one.

If your intention is to network your trolling motor and sonar together, if you go the Humminbird route you will need a Minn Kota with iPilot + LINK (not just iPilot), and a networkable Humminbird unit (Helix G2N, G3N).  I don't believe any of the Helix 5s are networkable.  If you solely want to run a sonar off your trolling motor, you can use about any Sonar with the Minn Kota Terrovas that have Universal Sonar.

 

@Yankee Troller is a good guy to talk to about this stuff.

 

If you're more of a Lowrance guy, they network with Motor Guide.  I'm not well-read on how those units interface with eachother.

Thanks just trying to see what we will need to make that happen just would like info and knowledge before purchasing. Also to make sure I get all the proper equipment. I will have to give him a msg.

Call me at Krenzer Marine in service. I can get everything you need, and I have a great installer. I'm well versed in Minn Kota/Humminbird personally.
