Websites in Buffalo are reporting Canadian Ministries and law enforcement boats are shagging American boats out of Canadian water even if properly licensed. Has anybody on the St. Lawrence experienced this since Covid 19?

Up here, we've been told the border is closed both on land and on the water! There are plenty of Canadian anglers who have venture into NY waters on Lake Erie to take advantage of the open early bass season there! Some have been escorted back but many have not, so I think it's kinda luck of the draw. Still not worth it in my mind, there are plenty of fish on both sides of the border, although my NY license is pretty much a waste right now LOL!

I had two friends up last week and they got ran out within 15 minutes of crossing over and fishing. The funny part is that one of them had a season license from earlier but the other one had just purchased a 1 day license. Why would they sell him a 1 day license if they knew he couldn't use it. (being sarcastic, I know why. MONEY)

So what's the story if you have/are planning a trip to 1000 Island area and will fish the U.S. side. Are lodges still renting, or has Cuomo cancelled all activities including fishing? Are you permitted to fish anymore?

If you're an American you can fish the US waters. They haven't done anything to stop fishing. You'd have to check your particular lodging favorite too make sure they're renting.

Plenty of fish to catch on the American side. Not worth the hassle.
