Another outstanding trip to Olcott. 17-24 first day and 20 for 24 second day. Highlight of the trip was first fish of the trip being a 32 lb king with one happy 13 year old grinning ear to ear!!! IMG_3041.thumb.jpg.dce1f2ef51c623ea83179c4a0f01a9f2.jpg

Wow. Thats awesome. 32# this early in the season. If that fish was caught in late august/ September after fattening up for the run how heavy do you guys think it would weigh?

just courious how much weigh they can stack on trough out a summer.

We were definitely bummed out that the derby wasn't going on for sure. That fish would have been upper 30's in late August if not higher.

Well done!  I almost got spooled on a king on Wednesday on a eight color w/flasher/fly before it shook the hook.  What a time to have boat issue while there are four year olds around.

This time of year I typically fish 10-2pm. Sleep in. Good weather windows dictates when I fish also.

Didn't get our first fish until 830 Sunday morning but after that it was a steady pick throughout the rest of the day.

Congratulations. That's one huge king for this time of the year.  You would have won the LOC..  How fast were you guys trolling if you don't mind me asking.

We tried to hold 2.2-2.3 on the fish hawk on Saturday.  Sunday we noticed with that east wind that we started getting more bites between 1.9 and 2.0 on the downspeed. Not sure if the wind had something to do with it or not. I thought maybe the fish were going to be a little negative but our numbers did not support that.

You guys did great.  It's nice to see the kids out there fishing too.  To many kids sitting at home playing video games and on their cell phones.
