Never, personally tried one. But if I remember right, there was a thread regarding their use a year or 2 ago. And from what I recall, they are more in tuned for higher speed trolling such as what is used in the salt water due to the aerodynamics of it. I don't think a whole lot of G.L. fishermen are using them. Could be wrong however.

I remember one of the guys from our marina bought two when they first came out.

He lost them both the first weekend. Turns out they have alot of vertical pull in rough water. When the boat went up on a large wave, the cable broke. They may work better on the ocean, the waves are less steep.
