Which down rigger snap model release do you like, the 18', 30", or the 48", I might get a couple reg. and couple mini, recommendations? -Thanks

18" is plenty, and i don't recommend the mini grip if your using flasher flies as they will not hold.

I use the shorter ones but was talking to somebody last year that said he uses the 30" ones without any problems.

I like the 30" ones. If a fish even breathes on my lure it shows up in the rod tip.

I use Off Shores and rig them with 18 to 20" leads. Works as Tim said. Very easy to see a shaker or anything else going on down there at the rod tip.
