Best Place to Launch at Oak Orchard

Hello All. I am coming to Oak Orchard for my first time. Usually fish OLCOTT. What's the best launch to use? Thanks.

At the black north restaurant on East end of creek at piers. Stop in afterwards to restaurant as food is excellent!!

Well, I'm going to have to disagree regarding best launch. The state launch ,which is on the West side of the Oak is better in my opinion. There are more launches, and way more parking. Less pedestrian traffic too.

get the free golden pass if you're an old timer like me. We like the state launch as there is more trailer parking. It seems to get congested on the east side.

I agree with the state launch. $6 to launch but when you see the headaches by the Black North with the traffic and people it's worth the money. Plus there's only 12 trailer parking spots on the east side. Last year they even built up the docks for the high water on the state side.

Thanks, I'll try the state launch. I did not get up there yet. That trip fell through.

I would agree on weekends you would want the state launch, but during the week you won’t have too much to deal with at the black north launch
