Up for the weekend trying to get my brothers daughter a king, fished all morning 120-150fow

Riggers all over 90’ to 120/125 , 15lb weights no fish hawk

Dipseys 225-300

 

Running spoons a fly and a meat rig,

Only rod that took a hit was the leadcore junk line

 

Speed from 2.2 -2.6 surface speed

 

Fished by the dunes

 

Going for lunch looking for some help

Maybe try to pick ur surface speed up to 3-3.5   I think that’s what I was running last week on surface

Fish higher in the water column. 10 colors of lead goes down about 40-42 feet at 2.5mph

Go out over deeper water  put a high speed spread out and cover water till you find the fish .

Hard nox, what gear do you consider a high speed spread?

 

i was out on Mexico Bay mon, tues, and wed.  Caught one steely and 5 kings all about 100-120 fow with spin doctor/fly on driggers.  Had to work for the fish, all hits were 2.5-3 mph.

My high sped spread is as many Optimizer spoons that i can put in the water then i will run 3.7 mph down speed or faster .

?? Never ran Optimizer spoons but most of my spoons start to spin when I get anywhere near 3.7 down speed

Optimizer spoons dont even start to work until 3.2 and faster .

We had our best hits tues/wed in 180 fow off dipseys, 280-300' out.

If your core took a shot mind you it could of been a steelhead up a bit higher in the Column, I’d try picking riggers up a bit
