I’m trying to find someone to help me repair/restore some Fenwick downrigger rods that my father originally built himself.

Any help/ recommendations of Upstate NY  people who could provide these services would be much appreciated.

To what extent are they damaged? Are you looking for cosmetic repair or just replacing missing eyes, new wrapping and such so they can be used?

They need new eyes and wrapping, but it would be great to find someone who could restore them cosmetically as well.

I’m not sure where you are located, but Captain Bobs in Clarence can put on new eyes, wrapping, and lacquer/epoxy over the new wraps but I’m not sure about any type of painting or polishing.

You might give some consideration to doing it yourself.  Watch some “you tube” video then purchase supplies from a place like Jann’s Netcraft or Mudhole Tackle.  Could make a nice winter project.  Not difficult but labor intensive.  I do my own rod repair/refinishing and for many rods it makes more sense to replace rod than to do more than a guide replacement or a refinish. One of those things you want to do but you need to realize dollar wise it doesn’t work.
