Second time this year I pulled a lamprey up on a fish in Cayuga... First time ever on a Salmon. The lamprey was two feet long ... longer than the fish...had a death grip just behind the gill plate and had eaten clear through the skin in a cylindrical patch. Once removed no way the fish would have survived.... in anger the lamprey was dispatched into multiple pieces with the filet knife...before it released...that said we have reeled in some where between 4-500 fish so far this season two reys only two or so with damage and no rey ...so what dec is doing is working...keep up the good Work...
