Mexico fishing report

I have never fished meat rigs before. Do you recommend whole herring or strips, and where do you buy them from?

Strips and you can them from pretty much any local tackle shop.

Set up about 630 north of the river trolled north to the dunes and back towards river now haven’t moved a rod ff meat and a few spoons marked scattered fish

Fished 180-280 off plant. 0/2, 325 dipsy took a shot and 103 rigger, both F/F. Very slow morning. Marks down 100, but few and far between.

Might gut's been telling me that the corner by the plant should be holding better water. Heading up in an hr or so. Any browns hugging bottom ? Love kings but a couple footballs for the grill works for me.

I've been contemplating making a run up to Chaumont bay for a while now to try for some big walleyes. With these reports that might turn into a reality tomorrow. Long run in the boat but last few weeks of slow fishing in Mexico have me willing to try something different. Decisions, decisions...

I'll save your space. Gonna be slow but some of my best days were just like this. When in doubt fish for trout.

Just got off the lake in Mexico. Had 3 kids between the ages of 6-11 and it was a little too bumpy for them. Tried to hold out as the lake was starting to settle, but didnt want to ruin their experience. We did have some good marks in 120fow tight to the bottom in front of catfish. Temp was waaaaayyyy down, 105 down over 120 was 48 degrees. Pretty much 75 degrees from surface to 85 down. Back at them tomorrow morning.

Got Lowballer on the deck.  Were in 250FOW just got rods in.  Makin a good amount of fish between 100-50ft.  Temp 48 down 130.  No takers yet.

My buddy sent me that. All chater on the radio is the same across the fleet.  REAL SLOW.  Just had my first bump and let go.
