Hi all, I was fishing out of Oswego on Sunday morning and lost my double keel otter boat, it’s amazing how quickly they disappear. The otter boat has writing on it that will identify it, thank you in advance , Tom

I was out of Mexico sunday untill noon. Towards the end of trip I spotted something orange floating a hundred yards away or so. I was in front of the plant 160ft of water. I wonder if that was it.  Only seen it a few min then lost it in the waves and trollin with a 8 rod spread it was tough to turn Around and get up to it. If it was ur board I’m sure it made landfall somewhere around port Ontario. Winds were west/southwest

No prob. Wish it was closer and was able to grab it. I would have certainly posted it on here to find the owner. Best of luck finding it.

You can order keels with only half the weight from Big Jon. One and a half weight stays afloat. I don't think that Fat Nancy sells the half weights.

I lost one about 6 weeks ago in same location.  Had my name and number on it, double keel.  it was found north of Sandy.  I pick up this weekend, still in great condition.  I also did see an orange object  in front of salmon river around noon.  Hope you have the same luck.

I also seen it in front of 9 mile it definitely looked like a otter boat but I could not get turned around to get it called another boat behind me and they never seen it

I believe the older keels were made of aluminum, therefore the keels had a full weight and the second keel had a half weight. They are now made from stainless and have a half weight on one keel and no weight on the second keel.At least that's the way mine are. They are quite heavy and act like they would sink also.

I lost a dream weaver ninja board two weeks ago out of fair haven! Fish broke the backer above the board. Fish took it under to never be seen again. With a 300’ copper as well. It’s always something!

I am not an engineer but do you think if the keel and a half do sink something could be added for a little floatation on top of the board to prevent this without affecting performance.  Maybe a styrofoam block.

I made custom keels with long angles on the front leading edge out of aluminum and only used 1 full weight.   I was able to get them to pull much harder, handle large weed mats, and they float fine.  Otters are easily customized to get them to float and pull hard

i have broke off a couple with double keels they do not sink just hard to see it will wash up somewhere.
