I have a 1973 Starcraft. It needs a paint job, what type of paint works the best on aluminum boats? Its 23 feet long- any price estimates are appreciated as well.

Thanks

If you trailer your boat and keep it out of the water is simple. If you leave the boat at a dock, there are a lot of things like Phosphoric primer, primer and finish coats. Stripping the old paint, sandblasting welds, electrolysis, etc. Or simply, is there any rust?

Interlux Trilux 33 for the bottom and Interlux brightside of above the waterline.

Just prime bare spots and your good to apply any good marine paint above the waterline.

We have a 16' Starcraft open layout with a 50 merc, we sanded the hull, primed the bare spots and brush painted Rustoleum (spelling?), been on there for 6 years, we have put that hull thru hell with beaching, docking without fenders, trailering, etc...

It cost us $30 to paint it. I don't recommend doing this, just that the old Starcrafts were tanks.
