These days it pays to run 30 lb Sea Flee as the main line and then leader down to 10 or 12 lb test

We were out Sunday, and the flea situation was a little different than I have seen before. Downrigger lines and lead core / leaders were fine, however the dipsy wires were loaded with fleas. And they were very difficult to get off the wire, not the typical quick snap and they’re gone.

The water temps are still up a bit from normal was 64 down to 65 ft the other day on Canandaigua. We will need a few more cold nights to get the temp below 60 degrees or so and the fleas should be reduced. They are probably the fishhook type now so harder to get off lines.

That warm water on Cayuga went down to 80 foot outside of deans, not sure if it was due to a blow, cause out toward the middle the surface weeds were awful as well.
