RM,

The derby winner will come from the Niagara bar on May 8th. It will weigh 28 lbs 4 oz and will be caught on the Spoonfed. More than likely by the wife as she doesn't let me get to to many rods. LOL.

Out of Olcott. I like your positive thinking as far as weight, but think you are a tad heavy. I'll say it will come in at a top weight of around 27. Reason I say Olcott is that I believe by the end of the derby, you will see a more dispersed fishery from the Oak to the bar, with a greater concentration of people fishing the western basin, with the relatively mild winter we had with the exception of Feb. and early March. We should see the kings spread out somewhat instead on being piled up off the bar. Which to me is a positve thing.

Don't short change us boy's from Mexico, I think it will be a King just west of the plant hung to a dipsey fly combo tipping the scale at 28.00 lbs. dancing on the deck of a Penn Yan !

Im gonna have to say its coming from the West! Now with me fishing 7 out of 10 days I think I have a perty good chance. But with the way my luck has been going this past week Im guessing the swivel will staighten out with about 5' to go to the net!

I'm going with Olcott. I think the winner will be around 26.5. The winning laker will be 21lb, steelhead 16 lbs, and brown around 14 lbs. We will see how this pans out.

Bill, winner being caught from a Penn Yan. I like the sound of that. Only on a smaller vessel than yours, from a 24' Contender :) Best of luck with your new rig this year and have a safe one as well.
