The kid looks a little young to handle that rifle.  You sure this isn't grandpa's 50th deer?  lol.
Nice one.   A NYS deer?

Lol, he does well with a gun rest and a grandpa. He's been shooting Turkey the last two years with the new Stevens 410 off shooting sticks and red dot scope. The only problem this time was him finding the deer thru the scope. It took a few minutes but he came thru.

Your right mean machine its accurate. I bought the 350 legend so I could start my grandson on deer for youth gun season. I sold a 45/70 and used the money to buy the legend. Ohio has a straight wall cartridge law for rifles and I new that legend would be more accurate than a 410 slug. We saw a really nice buck the first day and he couldn't get on it fast enough, but it worked out the last day.

I have been taking my daughter last 3 years to Ohio for a youth hunt.  Last two have been with Southern Ohio Outfitters.  Shes 3 for 3 and killed a giant this year.  Her hunts are more fun than my own.  She shoots 150 grain winchester factory loads.  I've bought her a caldwell chairpod and she's lights out shooting that 350.  Can't wait until next year!

I'm with you meanmachine, I would rather watch those young ones than do it myself. My grandson ask me to lean down to him why we were on our way to the deer he shot and then he give me a big hug and said thank you grandpa for taking me hunting. That's what it's all about!!!

Here's one of the Turkey's he shot this spring. Shot it with a Steven's 410 Turkey gun using federal heavyweight tss premium and shooting sticks. Those federal tss shoot extremely well. Picture is him shooting target at 35 yards or so.20200419_071252.jpeg20200417_104239.jpeg
