I fished Seneca Lake with Carl Niles (Newark Valley, NY@ 1996) for lake trout and he had 2 and we crushed them.  Brings back some fond memories.  With that copper line, it didn't seem to matter what time of day it was, mark the fish, wait for the tug on the wire , carefully spool the wire.  We used a single hook SS spoon that some guy made at the south end by the salt works.  Cooked them up with Big Al's fish fry.  Yum
