Back in my working days we used a adhesive backed foam with a thin lead sheet integrated in it for noise reduction on machine covers. Bought it from McMaster Supply Co. The lead in the foam is the key for significant noise reduction. You can order from McMaster online. Problem is that it is not cheap. Inside of doghouse must be very clean, especially from oil for the adhesive to stick.

I had the same idea. I bought this over the winter and am going to install this week. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-050510

I put in regular 2 inch insulation that’s aluminum foil backed and use the Silver metal tape that you use for duct in the house that’s been there three years and no problem

I installed the boom mat this weekend. Worked perfectly the width was right on for my doghouse (32”) had enough to do top, front and sides
