Guys from late May to early August what are you feeling your Flasher/Fly/Meat vs Spoon catch ratio is?? I feel like our boat is 3/1 going to the flasher.

Fishing higher in the water column, I’m spoon heavy. Fishing down deep I’m more FF and Meat heavy. Almost always start the morning with spoons on riggers and FF on dipseys. Cores get spoons, copper gets FF. I don’t mess with meat much until August mostly because I’m lazy and don’t want to mess with, not because it doesn’t catch fish any time of year. Never run FF on riggers except in August I’ll run a meat rig down deep on one rigger.

I'm probably 3-1 the other way.

I would bet this is a result of what we both have confidence in and what we run the most.

For me it depends on time of year. I feel like the bite is spoon heavy May - June then turns to flashers. Late August - September is back to big spoons and spin doctors.

Early light, before 8:oo AM, J13 Rapalas worked fine near shore at this time of year. After the sun rose 50 foot of water was better for kings.
