High water

A guy I know who lives in Spencerport says the creek behind his house is higher than he has ever seen it  today 

 

Also Coyote K said Sandy creek behind his house is also very high  Also today . 

 

Anybody know what's up ? 

 

Are they draining the canal to try and raise the lake ?

Canal release.  Its a new program to have better flows in the Lake O tribs by dumping canal water but I thought it was for the fall only.  I am shocked they are doing it now.   Salmon Creek in Hilton was high and muddy yesterday when I took my kid magnet fishing.  Sandy was flowing good and muddy today when I was working on the boat.

I somehow got on a e-mail list from canals.ny.gov and the press release said guard gates at Holley, Spencerport and Brockport were raised recently to lower canal water levels so repairs can be made for leakage somewhere west of Brockport.
