Took a quick trip out to the 250 to 420 range north of Hedges Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:30. Saw the same dead bait on the surface many others have noted. Screen was very blank, but I trolled at 45 to 70' down based on temp. Hooked a nice king at 48 over 410 on a FF and lost him about 30' from the boat. It was much colder than I expected on the water and I horsed him in too fast. My own fault. Not much to see that night but hopefully the warmer temps coming will turn things around.
