Cheating a stacked downrigger

Anyone ever run a cheater off the top rod on a stacked downrigger? Or is this asking for a tangled mess.

X2 on being a bad plan.  Does work pretty good if you want to lose some tackle.  Learned that the hard way back in the eighties.

They are right... not a great idea. It can be done but why ask for trouble
