Split ring on spoons or nah?

I’ve been running split rings on all my spoons… but I’ve read some posts about people saying if the manufacturer doesn’t include one, you don’t need one. I just assumed they were trying to save a nickel by not including one to improve the profit margin… seems like the ring allows the natural actual of the spoon to take over but I guess I’ve never really experimented without the ring…

 

What are you guys doing?

I do not run split rings on my spoons...even if they come with them, I remove them.

You feel they run better without? You just using a size 2 or 3 snap swivel?

If they come on the spoon I use them, if they don't come on the spoon I use them without it. If they came on the spoon I just assume the manufacturer saw a need for it so I use them and vice versa. I've caught lots of fish on Dreamweaver spoons with split rings and lots of fish on Michigan Stinger spoons without split rings.

I run them on all my spoons, if they don't have them i add them.

Adding them works really well for
Me, I personally think it allows the spoon to wobble better
